Spider – 30ft Fenmatch Narrowboat

Meet Spider, a practical and well-maintained 30ft cruiser narrowboat built by Fenmatch Boats. Measuring 30 feet in length with a beam of 6ft 10in, she features a spacious cruiser stern combined with an enclosed bow – a clever layout designed to make the very best use of available living space. The hull is constructed from steel with a flat bottom, and has recently been attended to with a full blacking in 2025 using bitumen, giving you peace of mind regarding her underwater protection. She is currently moored in Staffordshire and ready for viewings by appointment.

Power comes from a reliable BMC 1.5 four-cylinder diesel engine, cooled by an external trombone system rather than traditional skin tanks, and paired with a fuel tank holding approximately 30 gallons. Onboard comfort is well catered for too: hot water is provided by a Paloma gas boiler, while warmth throughout the cabin comes from a Valor solid fuel stove. The electrical system offers both 12V and 240V supplies, supported by a 600W pure sine wave inverter, one starter battery, three leisure batteries, plus a battery charger and galvanic isolator. The interior is finished with hardwood and carpeted flooring, wood panelled cabin sides, polystyrene insulation, and top-opening windows, creating a bright and cosy atmosphere.

The accommodation layout offers flexible sleeping arrangements: there is space for three berths in total, with seating in the bow area converting into a double bed and the saloon sofa pulling out to form a single. The galley includes solid wood worktops, a Statesman cooker, and a 12V-powered fridge, while the bathroom features a cassette toilet and a shower area with a removable shelf to maximise space when needed. Additional extras include a pram cover and front cover, and the vessel holds a valid Boat Safety Certificate until August 2028.
